Rick began building his reputation in the franchising world in the early 90's when he developed his first franchise model, AMS Entertainment, in Santa Barbara, CA. He worked alongside Erwin Keup, the Author of Franchise Bible, to write and develop the Uniform Franchise Offering Circular and Franchise Agreement for AMS Entertainment.
Rick started franchising this model in 1994, and in 1997 AMS was ranked by Entrepreneur Magazine in their Annual Franchise 500. The company opened 40 U.S. locations in 19 states. He served as the company's president until September of 2001. In January of 2002, Rick joined The Perfect Wedding Guide, developing the Colorado and New Mexico markets. During this period he authored the Wedding and Event Business Builder Workbook Series and training courses, resulting in vast improvements in the class attendee's businesses. He was a featured speaker and trainer for various bridal show producers to improve the effectiveness of their vendor's bridal show sales and marketing.
Rick has acted as a business and marketing consultant to many businesses, from small wedding vendors to multi-million dollar software companies. He has consulted franchisors, and companies seeking to become franchisors, training them to define their target market, identify the prospective client's needs and develop full scale marketing campaigns.
Rick co-founded All About Honeymoons Franchise Corporation in Denver, Colorado in March of 2003. All About Honeymoons completed their due diligence and legal paperwork in March of 2004 and opened their first franchise in April of 2004.
Rick served as the company's Chief Executive Officer and Franchise Development Coordinator from its inception until June of 2006. After the structure of the company was defined and solid, Rick transitioned to Chief Marketing Officer and Franchise Development to focus on the next phase of growth through marketing, franchise recruiting and leading the marketing team. He developed a high tech/high touch franchise sales system, selling over 150 franchises in North America. Rick was the exclusive franchise consultant featured in the 2007 release of the Franchise Bible by Erwin Keup. This publication has been one of the franchise industry's best sellers and is now published by Entrepreneur Press.
Rick assembled a team of the franchise industry's finest professionals to form Franchise Matchmaker in 2007 to assist franchisors, prospective franchise owners and companies wanting to franchise as they enter the exciting world of franchising.
